Hi there everyone. My name is Tara Musich (sounds like “music”) andI am a native speaker of American English coming from the state of California in the United States. I have a bachelors’ degreein Spanish and Italian from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and I am a certified and experienced English teacher. I speak Spanish fluently, as well as Italian at an advanced conversational level; skills that have aided me tremendously in fulfilling my passions for travel and living abroad. I feel that my understanding of foreign-language-learning from a students’ point of view, is one of the attributes that enables me to provide my students with special study skills that only a successful, experienced student/teacher would know. I believe that an exceptional teacher should never stop being an eager student. Since 2002, I have taught and tutored Spanish and English students in over seven countries including the U.S., Spain, Italy, Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina, and Ecuador. The students have ranged from beginning to advanced proficiency and from ages 4 to 65. The method that I prefer to use is a balanced combination of phonics and enunciation, speaking, listening comprehension, and written composition – all with a special focus on verbal conversation. I enjoy using web sites, English language music, film and television in order to better convey certain concepts and to demonstrate proper pronunciation. However, keep in mind that our lessons are always custom-tailored to fitthe student’s, scholastic and personal goals. I like to consider myself a compassionate educator and am always open to helping my students build their confidence in areas where they might feel apprehensive – Confidence is the biggest step in communication – so I encourage my students to always ask questions whenever there is any doubt.
